Learn How To Get Rid Of Cellulite

How to get rid of celluliteWomen of all ages who are suffering from dimpled and bumpy skin are asking the question “how to get rid of cellulite”. Formation of cellulite is difficult to treat as it is caused by changes to the underlying skin structure. An important part of this structure is the muscle layer beneath the subcutaneous fat. If these muscles are in poor condition they become soft and flabby. The influence of soft, flabby, deflated, muscles in the cellulite zone allows the fat layer and skin above to pucker and become lumpy and uneven. This results in a dimpled, orange peel texture to the skin which is the classic cellulite condition.

Of course there are a multitude of commercial remedies on the market ranging from extreme treatments such as liposuction or cosmetic surgery down through creams, herbal remedies and diet pills. So if these remedies all work, how come so many women have failed to get the results they want? Perhaps it is because they are not anywhere near as effective as claimed. It would be nice to get rid of cellulite simply by rubbing on a special cream but unfortunately it is not quite that easy. The sad truth is there are many women who have tried out a host of these remedies, but have been unable to discover how to get rid of cellulite once and for all.

The reality is that the best way to get rid of cellulite is proper diet and targeted exercise. With a focused program, dramatic cellulite reduction can be seen in as little as 4 weeks. The more you are able to get rid of surplus body fat and improve fitness and muscle tone the less obvious the cellulite becomes. Although this approach is less appealing than herbal remedies or creams, reducing calorie intake, changing eating habits and following a targeted exercise program is the most effective way to deal with cellulite.

This works in two ways. By reducing body fat the fatty deposits in the skin are also reduced.  Think of body builders getting their fat index way down so that the muscle definition is more pronounced. Using exercise to firm and tone your muscles results in the muscle layer beneath the cellulite pushing out against the skin. This causes the skin to tighten and firm more evenly around the underlying dermis, connective tissue, and subcutaneous fat. The end result is a significant improvement in the smoothness of the outer layer of your skin. And that’s what makes your hips and butt look smooth and sexy again

Quite a bit of press has been given to massage treatment as the answer to how to get rid of cellulite.  This is where the skin is massaged deeply to allow an increase in the blood flow and increases lymphatic drainage. The theory behind this is that the pressure applied will flatten and disperse cellulite deposits beneath the skin. However the result is short term and the improved appearance is probably more to do with the skin temporarily becoming more engorged with blood resulting in a puffing up and swelling that makes the dimpled appearance less noticeable. Once the skin returns to normal the effect disappears. Before considering this form of treatment seek out professional advice from a trained massage specialist and ask what type of long term results can be expected.
